Kyoto Palace Japanese Steakhouse is conveniently located on the second floor of the Pruneyard Shopping Center in Campbell. We are celebrating our 36th year of serving fine Japanese cuisine. Our origins begin with a different name, Fujiya Japanese Restaurant, but we are still dedicated to quality of servicing the very best of teppanyaki and Japanese sushi.
Kyoto Palace is a fantastic place to celebrate any occasion. Come celebrate your birthday, anniversary, or prom with us! We also provide a separate room to accommodate private parties, such as wedding rehearsal and personal graduation parties.
You will certainly impress your out-of-town guests or relatives as your party of eight sits around a six-foot grill, where our master teppan chef prepares your food before your eyes! Kyoto Palace is not just a great place to eat, but also great entertainment with our skillful chefs as they master the wizardy of the “sword”.
We feature the freshest seafood, chicken, and steak, where you can enjoy such favorites as The Emperor, Samurai, and Mikado. You can also venture over the Sushi Bar and watch the greatest chefs in the Valley prepare sushi rolls and sashimi from our extensive list of offerings.

This is one of my most favorite places to eat.
EVERYTHING there is good, you name it, its good.
I always order the filet mignon or New York Steak w/ shrimp, vegetables, and fried rice (which costs about $4 more vs. white). Plenty for left-overs.
You are given a choice of soup or salad, both are great, but the salad is by far the best.
During lunch, their menu items are about $10 cheaper and there usually is not a wait (my favorite time to go). Their lunch times usually end around 2pm and they open back up around 5 or 6pm. During the evenings, when they open back up, the prices go up and the line goes out of the door.
Make sure you call first because they are closed on certain days of the week and at certain times (which I can not recall).
Even with reservations you may be waiting any where from 1-3 hours or more, which is definitely a turn-off. There have been many times that I didn't feel like waiting and just ended up leaving even when we had reservations.
Their restaurant gives off a nice authentic feel and is very modern. Their floors, tables, and grills are always kept spotless. The bathroom is cute on the inside, not always the cleanest, but excusable due to their high volume of diners.
Your food is served Teppanyaki style (in other words: they cook on a grill in front of you) right at your table. Whether your a party of two or more, you fill up the seats surrounding the grill. You can't be shy!
There is a Chef for each grill, each whom does tricks, and attempts to make you laugh. The first time is entertaining, but after that not so much lol. Maybe they should switch it up a little. I have had about 6 different Chefs on different occasions; 5 out of 6 were funny, charming, and really good at what they do. I have a couple favorites, but right now I can't think of any of their names except for the one guy who looks asian, has a latin name, and speaks Spanish (possibly Julio) and another Latin gentlemen with big cheeks and a full mustache.
The restaurant Manager is always there. Every time I go there, I see him (probably explains their excellence).
All their staff are polite, personable, and excellent at what they do. The food is amazing and above all CONSISTENT.
